Those primary care providers

Yesterday we took Asher in for his consult with the pediatric cardiologist. The fellow (and attached med student) walked in, politely chatted, asked the medical history and then pulled out their stethoscopes. The fellow gave Asher his name tag to play with while he listened all over the chest.

Finishing up and wrapping the stethoscope around his neck the fellow gave us the "innocent murmur spiel." Of course that is exactly what we want to hear. Plus a healthy, wild explorer who never turns blue isn't exactly a cause for concern.

Of course he'd never say it, but you could just imagine the the cardiologist thinking, "those primary care docs, they refer everything." Hey we're thankful that our little boy is a boring consult.
