This mess of clothing is what remains from Mark's day of helping the Salvation Army with flood clean-up in Rushford, MN. The big rains from two weeks ago caused major flooding in parts of the state. In Rushford they are still working on cleaning out muck, ripping out rotten dry wall and trying to have a normal life again.
For Labor Day our ward sent about 30 volunteers down to help out. Mark said it was yucky work. We'd been warned that you needed huge gloves and boots and clothes you didn't care about. Mark found the good farm boots and gloves at our favorite Fleet Farm store. Since Mark really didn't have any "old" jeans and t-shirts (thanks to his new size) we had to make a trip to Savers for some quality used gear.
The kids and I had a much more routine Labor Day. For our big service project we took some tomatoes over to a friend.
