July 10 (ish) 2002 (On July 10th of that year we didn't take many pictures but here he is a week later.)
Holden begged and begged to have a birthday party this year. We agreed that he could invite 4 friends over but not for a "real" birthday party. This Thursday afternoon we had 3 1/2 friends over for a couple hours. (The half friend only stayed for half an hour). Since it wasn't a "real" party the friends were asked to bring "no presents." They all did.
We started with a wrecking ball game.

After the weather sirens started going off and the skies went very dark with an approaching severe thunderstorm, we came inside for the yellow construction cone pinata:
For dessert we had a backhoe construction truck cake (all party ideas courtesy of Family Fun):
I can assure you the party was way crazier than the pictures suggest. Holden e-mailed me (from his new gmail account) "i hadbrthea prde i had fun" so it was worth it.

Holden (and Asher) love the new Tony Stewart truck. Holden is also totally into his "electric set."
