For 33 of the 34 months we've lived in this house we've seriously disliked our built-in entertainment center. Finally it's gone. Total cost: $135 for a fix-it-guy to remove it + $110 for a couple of carpet guys to patch the carpet + 1 coat of paint by me = millstone removed.
In case you never saw the thing and you're wondering why we hated it, it's simple. The TV placement in this contraption was such that you could only watch TV if you were standing in the middle of a wall. No couch arrangement or seating chart made sense. Basically it was a weird (and no doubt expensive) installation.
