This summer we had a wonderful three week break from normal life. As a grown-up you don't often get the chance to go home and bask in your parents' love for so long. Thank you for feeding us and giving us peaceful memories!
Our trip in short:
- We left Minnesota on July 20 and returned August 13.
- During that time the Suburban added 4,697 miles and used 266 gallons of gasoline.
- We passed through Iowa, Nebraska, and Wyoming on our way to Utah. Mark spent the weekend before flying home to work. The children and I got another week there.
- In Utah I ran in the Deseret News Pioneer Day 10 K. We visited the Kennecott Copper Mine, Natural History Museum, Tracy Aviary, BYU campus and got to visit with family.
- When it was time to leave Utah, kind uncle Kevin drove down with us to California.
- We had two weeks to soak up warmth in California. (Mark flew back and joined us there.) We swam lots and lots, went to Disneyland, some went to a Dodger game, and enjoyed seeing family.
- On the way home we passed through Arizona, New Mexico, bit of Texas, Oklahoma, then through Kansas, Missouri, Iowa and finally home.
- It was lots of miles but the children travelled well.
