Embracing the mess

We've been the official owners of our "new house" for exactly one week now.

The simultaneous closing for our sale and then purchase was seamless and easy. It made the actual moving boxes busier, but at least it was all done in a day.

The night before the closing we had a bunch of friends from the ward help us load our U-haul trucks. Yes, I was nervous and made Mark rent a second small truck. The lady at the U-haul store was utterly confused with the paperwork for "two!" trucks. The second one came in handy though for the lawn mower, food storage buckets, and other sundry items.

Friday morning we signed the paperwork. The couple we bought the house from left us an enormous fruit basket and some outside toys for the children. Southern hospitality at its finest. We had some unloader guys (found in the yellow pages) empty the trucks. These guys may have been missing a few teeth but worked fast and were courteous.

The layout of the new house is great. The kids love the backyard. Big thanks to Steven and Becca for helping us last weekend getting unpacked and getting the computer network set up.

Now I'm just in search of my mythical house that is a model of efficiency and cleanliness.
