The kids and I love to make graham crackers together:
Homemade Graham Crackers
Crackers:
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. sat
1 egg
2 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons maple syrup
3 tablespoons milk
Topping:
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tablespoon sugar
2 tablespoons milk
Combine the dry ingredients. Wisk the wet ingredients together. Combine to form a stiff dough. Knead gently. Roll it out 1/8 inch thick. Cut into squares. Separate the squares (or if you aren't up to it just leave them together) and place on greased cookie sheet. Have the kids poke holes in the crackers with a fork. Brush with milk and sprinkle with cinnamon/sugar topping. Bake for 15 minutes at 350 degrees. (You can bake them longer if you want a crispier cookie.)
These aren't exactly like the crackers from the store, but they are fun and easy to make.
